Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra on Thursday morning launched a programme to provide credit cards for operators of public-transport vehicles that use natural gas (NGV) at a function at Impact Muang Thong Thani, reports said.

This scheme, an election promised by the Pheu Thai Party, aims to help ease fuel cost burdens of drivers of taxis, auto-rickshaws and other public-transport vehicles.

Ms Yingluck was also scheduled to make a visit to the navy headquarters on Arun Amarin road in Thonburi area. She has previously visited the Ministry of Defence, the headquarters of the Royal Thai Armed Forces, the army and the air force.
